How to test an AI generated email in Blueshift

How to test an AI generated email in Blueshift

Step 1 - Open Alvas Cloud App Template

When setting up an AI email with Alvas, you will likely want to see what the AI outputs as texts inside the email template in Blueshift.

This guide shows you how to trigger the AI to generate a test email from Blueshift.

First, go to Templates -> Cloud App inside Blueshift.

Then find the Cloud App template with the ID you're currently working with.

The naming structure is typically:

Alvas_TypeOfEmail_LanguageCode_EmailId.

An example could be:

Alvas_AbandonedBrowse_EN_9242

Step 2 - Preview a person

When you have the Cloud App template open, you should preview it as a person. This could be yourself, or a customer with some data where you would like to see an AI generated email.

When previewing a person, it's very important that there is data present inside the productData key on the right side of the screen.

If there is not data, you will encounter an error on steps later on.

So for example in this screenshot below, there is no data, meaning I would encounter an error later on if I do not preview as another person.

Here is an example where I preview a profile that has sufficient data.

The way you find people with sufficient data, is by finding someone who's just triggered the flow where you want to setup Alvas. So for example, if it's Abandon Browse, find someone who's just entered the Abandon Browse flow.

Step 3 - Send a Test

First, go to Test Send inside Blueshift.

Then, enter in the email address of the same person you're previewing as.

Click the Send button.

Once you do that, you can go into Logs in Alvas, and see that it starts generating.

Once it's done generating, the texts will be stored on the profile inside Blueshift and you can preview the person inside the email template you've set up.
